The Negative Acknowledge (NAK) character is a transmission control character used in telecommunications and data links. It is sent by a station as a negative response to the sender, indicating that a block of data was received with errors or was otherwise invalid, signaling that the sender should retransmit the information.
⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with ␆ (Acknowledge / ACK).
