The Information Separator Three (U+001D), also known as the Group Separator (GS), is a non-printing control character. Historically, it was used in data processing to separate logical groups of information. Today, it is frequently encountered in GS1-128 barcode encoding to separate variable-length application identifiers.

⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with (File Separator U+001C).
