ℹ️ About

The Latin Letter Small Capital L (ʟ) is a specialized phonetic character used in the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) to represent the velarized alveolar lateral approximant (commonly known as the “dark L”). Although it resembles a miniature uppercase “L”, Unicode treats it as a lowercase letter for script processing purposes. It was formally introduced in Unicode 1.1.

⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with the standard l (U+006C) or the modifier (U+1DAB).
