The Cyrillic Capital Letter Je (U+0408) is a character used in several South Slavic alphabets, most notably Serbian, Macedonian, and Montenegrin. It was introduced into the Serbian alphabet by Vuk Karadžić. Technically, it represents the palatal approximant sound /j/ and is visually derived from the Latin letter ‘J’.
