The Cyrillic Small Letter Schwa (U+04D9) is a lowercase letter used in several Cyrillic-based alphabets, notably Kazakh, Bashkir, and Kalmyk. It represents a near-after-mid central vowel. Added in Unicode 1.1, it is the lowercase counterpart to U+04D8.
⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with ə (Latin Small Letter Schwa, U+0259).
