The Hebrew Point Sheva (ְ) is a fundamental Niqqud mark representing either a “zero-vowel” (Sheva Na) or a very short “e” sound (Sheva Nach). Technically, it is a non-spacing combining mark (CCC 10) that renders as two vertical dots beneath a consonant. Essential for both Biblical vocalization and modern Hebrew grammars.
⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with ׃ (U+05C3 Hebrew Punctuation Sof Pasuq), which looks similar but is a full-height punctuation mark.
