The Bengali Letter Ga (গ) is a voiced velar plosive consonant used in the Bengali and Assamese scripts. As a fundamental “Other Letter” (Lo), it supports the Left-To-Right (LTR) writing direction. It was first standardized in Unicode version 1.1 in June 1993 and remains a critical component for digital communication in South Asia.
⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with এ (U+098F – Bengali Letter E) which lacks the specific top-right stroke found in Ga.
