ℹ️ About
The New Tai Lue Vowel Sign Ay (ᦺ) is a dependent vowel sign used in the New Tai Lue script, primarily for the Tai Lü language. Unlike many other vowels, this sign is visually positioned to the left of the consonant it modifies, even though it is pronounced after it. It was introduced to Unicode 4.1 to simplify the traditional Lanna script for modern typography.
⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with ᦲ (Vowel Sign I) or ไ (Thai Vowel Sara Ai Mai Malayu).
