ℹ️ About
The Latin Letter Lateral Click (ǁ) is a critical phonetic symbol used in the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) to represent a lateral click consonant. Common in many Khoisan and some Bantu languages of Southern Africa (like Zulu and Xhosa), it represents a sound similar to a horse-riding “cluck” made at the side of the tongue.
⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with || (Double Vertical Line, U+2016) or the mathematical “parallel” symbol.
