The Latin Capital Letter Yogh (Ȝ) is a historical letter used primarily in Middle English and Old Scots to represent various velar and palatal sounds, such as [j], [ɣ], or [x]. It evolved from the Insular G and was eventually replaced by ‘y’, ‘g’, or ‘gh’ in modern orthography.
