The Gurmukhi Letter Tha (ਥ) is a consonant used in the Gurmukhi script for writing Punjabi. Technically classified as an ‘Other Letter’ (Lo), it represents the aspirated voiceless dental plosive /tʰ/. It is functionally distinct from its unaspirated counterpart ‘Ta’ and its voiced equivalent ‘Da’.
⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with ਖ (Kha) or ਧ (Dhadha).
