The Gurmukhi Letter Pha (ਫ) is a voiceless aspirated bilabial plosive consonant used in the Gurmukhi script for Punjabi. It belongs to the “Pavarga” (labial) group of the alphabet. Technically classified as an ‘Other Letter’ (Lo), it was introduced in Unicode 1.1 and follows Left-To-Right directionality within the Basic Multilingual Plane.

⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with ਫ਼ (Gurmukhi Letter Fa, U+0A5E), which uses a subscript dot to indicate a labiodental fricative sound /f/.
