The Buginese Letter A (ᨕ) is a foundational consonant in the Lontara script of South Sulawesi, Indonesia. While it technically functions as a carrier for the inherent vowel ‘a’, it is categorized as an “Other Letter” in Unicode. It follows a Left-to-Right directionality and is primarily used in Buginese, Makassarese, and Mandar languages.

⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with (Buginese Letter Ra) which shares a similar wavy baseline but features distinct upper-terminal strokes.
