The Armenian Capital Letter Yiwn (Ւ) is a critical uppercase vowel/consonant component in the Armenian script. Historically representing the [w] or [v] sound, it is now primarily found in classical Armenian orthography or as part of the diphthong “ու”. Technically, it is an Uppercase Letter (Lu) with Left-to-Right directionality, officially standardized in Unicode 1.1.

⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with the Latin character U or the Cyrillic И.
