ℹ️ About
The Devanagari Letter Ssa (ष) is a voiceless retroflex sibilant (/ʂ/), one of the three sibilants in the script. Primarily used in Sanskrit and loanwords, it is linguistically distinct from ‘sha’ (श) and ‘sa’ (स). Added to Unicode 1.1 in 1993, it remains a pillar of classical Indic typography.
⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with प (U+092A), which lacks the internal diagonal stroke.
