The Privacy Message (PM) is a C1 control character defined in ISO/IEC 6429. It is used to delimit a sequence of characters intended for private use by the operating system or terminal. In Unicode, it is a non-printing functional code. Note that in certain legacy encodings like Windows-1252, this position is mapped to the printable character “ž”.
⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with ž (U+017E), the Latin Small Letter Z with Caron.
