ℹ️ About

The ŭ character is a lowercase Latin letter featuring a breve accent. It is most prominently used in Esperanto to represent a non-syllabic ‘u’ (semi-vowel), similar to the ‘w’ sound in English “now”. It is technically a decomposition of the base letter ‘u’ (U+0075) and the combining breve (U+0306).

⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with ǔ (U+01D4, U with Caron/Hacek).
