ℹ️ About

The Latin Capital Letter Tone Five (Ƽ) is an orthographic character historically used in the 1957 Zhuang alphabet to represent a high, rising tone. It belongs to a set of numerical-looking tone markers. While it visually resembles a digit ‘5’, it is a distinct linguistic character. In modern 1982 Zhuang orthography, it has largely been replaced by the letter ‘q’.

⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with the digit 5 or the lowercase ƽ (U+01BD).
