ℹ️ About
The Latin Letter Glottal Stop (ʔ) is a fundamental phonetic symbol representing a glottal stop—a sound produced by the sudden closure and release of the vocal cords. In English, it is often heard in the middle of “uh-oh.” Unlike the question mark, it lacks a dot at the bottom and is used as a full letter in several alphabets (such as Chipewyan and Thompson) or as a technical mark in the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA).
⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with the question mark ? or the Arabic Hamza.
