ℹ️ About
The Coptic Capital Letter Shei (Ϣ) is a fundamental uppercase character in the Coptic script, which evolved from the Greek alphabet with the addition of Demotic-derived signs. Specifically, Ϣ represents the “sh” sound (/ʃ/). It is widely used in liturgical texts of the Coptic Orthodox Church and historical linguistic studies of Ancient Egyptian evolution.
⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with ϣ (Lowercase Shei, U+03E3) or the Greek Omega in some decorative fonts.
