ℹ️ About

The Cyrillic Capital Letter Hard Sign (Ъ), known as the “tvyordiy znak,” functions as an orthographic separator. In modern Russian, it indicates that the following vowel (usually я, е, ё, ю) is preceded by a [j] sound rather than palatalizing the preceding consonant.

⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with Ь (Soft Sign, U+042C) or the Latin letter B.
