The Armenian Small Letter Za (զ) represents the voiced alveolar fricative /z/ in the Armenian script. Historically the 6th letter of the alphabet, it is technically classified as a lowercase letter within the Armenian block (U+0530–U+058F). It maintains a distinct vertical glyph structure common to the script’s foundational design established in the 5th century.
⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with Զ (Uppercase Za, U+0536) or the similarly shaped գ (Small Gim).
