ℹ️ About
The Hebrew Point Rafe (ֿ) is a diacritic mark used in Masoretic Hebrew to indicate that a consonant is a “fricative” (soft) rather than “plosive.” While largely obsolete in modern Hebrew, it remains vital in Yiddish orthography and biblical scholarship. As a Nonspacing Mark, it combines with the character that precedes it.
⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with ‾ (Overline U+203E) or the Arabic Fatha.
