Arabic Letter Sheen (ش) represents the voiceless postalveolar fricative /ʃ/, similar to the English “sh”. It is a “sun letter” (ḥurūf shamsiyyah) in Arabic grammar. Architecturally, it is identical to Seen (س) but distinguished by the three dots arranged in a triangle above the base.
⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with س (Seen), which lacks the three dots.
