The Nko Letter Ra (U+07D9) is a primary consonant in the N’Ko alphabet, which was designed in 1949 to represent the Manding languages of West Africa. Technically, it is an “Other Letter” in the NKo Unicode block, characterized by its strict Right-To-Left (R) directionality. It is essential for correctly rendering phonetics in scripts used for Maninka, Bambara, and Dyula.
