The Samaritan Letter Alaf is the inaugural character of the Samaritan script, used primarily for religious texts in Samaritan Hebrew and Aramaic. As a Right-to-Left (RTL) character, it belongs to the ‘Other Letter’ category and was introduced in Unicode 5.2. It serves as the foundational glottal stop for the ancient Samaritan community.

⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with א (Hebrew Aleph) or ا (Arabic Alef).
