ℹ️ About
The Devanagari Sign Anusvara is a nonspacing mark (Mn) used in the Devanagari script (Hindi, Marathi, Sanskrit) to indicate nasalization of the preceding vowel. Technically, it represents a nasal sound that adapts its place of articulation to the following consonant. Added in Unicode 1.1, it is essential for the correct orthography of South Asian languages.
⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with ँ (U+0901 Chandrabindu), which denotes stronger nasalization.
