The Buginese Vowel Sign U (ᨘ) is a non-spacing mark in the Buginese (Lontara) script. As a dependent vowel sign, it is rendered directly below a base consonant to change the inherent /a/ sound to /u/. In digital typography, it is classified as a combining mark with a “Below” combining class.
⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with ᨗ (Buginese Vowel Sign I), which is placed above the consonant.
