The Buginese Vowel Sign I (ᨗ) is a nonspacing mark in the Lontara script used for the Buginese language. It is a dependent vowel sign that is typographically rendered above the base consonant to modify its inherent “a” sound to an “i” sound. In Unicode, it belongs to the “Above” combining class.
⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with ᨘ (Vowel Sign U), which is placed below the consonant.
