The Operating System Command (OSC) is a C1 control character used to initiate a sequence of characters intended for the operating system’s terminal or environment. While non-printing in modern UI, it historically allows for terminal functions like changing window titles or palette colors.

⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with U+008D or other C1 control codes that share similar non-visual profiles.
