The Index (IND) control character is a C1 control code inherited from ISO/IEC 6429. It is used to move the active position (cursor) down one line without changing the horizontal position. In Unicode, it is part of the Latin-1 Supplement block.
⚠️ Note: As a control character, it may appear as a box or be invisible in modern browsers. Do not confuse with the graphic symbol „ (U+201E Double Low-9 Quotation Mark).
