ℹ️ About

The Coptic Small Letter Shima (ϭ) is the lowercase counterpart to the capital Shima (Ϭ). In the Coptic script, this character evolved from Demotic Egyptian signs and typically represents the “sh” or soft “ch” sound (/tʃ/). Standardized in Unicode 1.1, it remains a pillar for digital typesetting of ancient Sahidic and Bohairic Coptic dialects.

⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with Ϭ (U+03EC, uppercase) or the Cyrillic small letter б.
