The Devanagari Letter Ka (क) is the first consonant of the Devanagari abugida. It represents the voiceless velar plosive [k]. Essential for Hindi, Sanskrit, and Marathi, this “Other Letter” (Lo) was first introduced in Unicode 1.1 in 1993 and is located in the Basic Multilingual Plane.

⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with क़ (U+0958), the Devanagari Letter Qa used for loanwords.
