ℹ️ About
Single Shift Two (SS2) is a C1 control character designated by the hex code U+008E. In legacy character encoding standards (like ISO/IEC 2022), it is used as a non-locking shift to invoke a single character from an alternate character set (G2). In modern UTF-8 environments, it is non-printing and typically acts as a boundary neutral character.
⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with the visual character Ž (Latin Capital Letter Z with Caron) which shares the same visual representation in some legacy code pages like Windows-1252 but is distinct in Unicode.
