The Buginese Letter Ya (ᨐ) is a consonant character in the Lontara script, used historically for the Buginese, Makassarese, and Mandar languages of South Sulawesi, Indonesia. It represents the palatal approximant /j/. In technical Unicode terms, it is an “Other Letter” (Lo) within the Buginese block (U+1A00–U+1A1F).

⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with (Buginese Letter Ra) which lacks the distinctive internal horizontal stroke.
