The Partial Line Forward (PLD) is a C1 control character used primarily in teleprinting and early terminal systems. Its technical function is to advance the active position forward by a specific fraction of a line height, enabling subscripting or fine-tuned vertical alignment in data streams.
⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with ‹ (Single Left-Pointing Angle Quotation Mark, U+2039).
