ℹ️ About
The Buginese Letter Ja (ᨍ) is a consonant character in the Lontara script, used for the Buginese, Makassarese, and Mandar languages of South Sulawesi, Indonesia. It represents the voiced palatal affricate /ɟ/. Historically, this script was written on palm leaves (Lontar), giving the characters their distinct curved, sharp geometry.
⚠️ Note: Do not confuse with ᨌ (Buginese Letter Ca) which has a similar structure but lacks the internal horizontal junction point.
